Recent Purchase & Sell: January 5 to January11

Recent Purchase & Sell: January 5 -January 11

The Market continues to see some volatility! Although we have seem some recent market upswing of late. The gyrations on the market are just noise. As a long term investor, we have to keep the noise out and follow our formula and keep investing at our own pace.

There are currently many bargains in the market relative to what the prices were 3 to 6 months ago. But we have to pick the best current value for our capital and deploy them where it makes more sense to invest rather than chase the darlings of market..

Let us now review what I recently purchase this month.

Without further ado...here is what I purchased:

January 8, 2019
T 8 shares @ $31.31 total $250.48
TD 2 shares @ $51.14 total $102.29
BLX 1 shares @ 17.86

January 11, 2019
ABBV 2 shares @ $88.20 total $176.40

Sell
January 8, 2019
BMY 2 shares @ $47.93 total $95.86

I added to 3 of the stocks on my watch list for January 2019.

AT&T (T) has been on sale for awhile and has been on my watch list for awhile as well. T is a must in any portfolio as it continually increases its dividend year-after-year. The purchase adds $16.32 in forward yearly dividend to my fund.

TD, I have long wanted to start adding shares here. This also helps me average down 5.83% from my initial purchase. The purchase also adds $5.36 in forward yearly dividend.

BLX, I continue to add shares here. BLX is my best option to invest in Central America. The purchase adds $1.54 to my forward yearly dividend.

ABBV, this is also average down on my purchase. If I loved it at $94 and $95 dollars, I definitely love it at $88.

ABBV, has also increase their dividend from $0.96 to $1.07. A whopping 11.5% increase. Got to love it when companies share their wealth either via dividend payout or raises every year. This more than cover yearly inflation. The purchase adds $14.28 in forward yearly dividend.

Sell:

BMY, the only reason I sold now is to trim the numbers of stocks I hold in my fund. It simply comes down to time of research and complimentary stocks. I also had a number of pharmaceutical which made this on easy sell. I also want to buy the must buy in the sector in the near future so did not want to have a heavy wait in the sector at this point in the accumulation phase.

All in all the current purchase, Dividend increase and sell, increases my yearly dividend by $69.39. My forward yearly dividend is now $1733.03.

What do you think of recent purchases?
What are you buying this month?

Thanks for visiting,

Purchase and Sell December 5-20

To buy or sell

The market continues to be volatile in December. The down is at its lowest since early 2017. However, as a long term investor and dividend investor in particular it is time to buy at a discount. If you plan to buy an item you have covetect for awhile but the price was still expensive, wouldn't you buy it at a 20% discount? That is th ekind of mind set you need as a long term investor. It is time to buy at a discount during volatility in the market and not pay attention to market gyrations, that pundits tend to over enphasize or create fear amonst the general masses.

Are you buy or selling during the market volatility? Way back in early November I decided to trim the numbers of stocks I own at the time from 80 to 60. I began the journey with some turmoil and daily gyrations at the time. Some I sold turn out to be a good sell highsight 20/20. however, my intentions were not to sell due to market condictions. It was merely to lower the amount of stocks I am currently tracking due to other ventures that requires my attention.

Now lets see some of the activity that has taken place since December 5th in my account. without further ado... let us review the stocks sold first:

December 6, 2018
AGNC 18 shares @ $17.70 total $318.60

December 11, 2018
PAA 10 shares @ $22.32 total $223.25
PFE 3 shares @ $44.08 total $132.26

Decemeber 12, 2018
PCH 8 shares @ $35.18 total $281.45

Totol proceedes $955.56, was all put to work immediatelly on other stocks I wish to keep long term. It may come to a point where I could invision buying some of this stocks again. At the moment however, they do not fit in the fund.

Now let us look at the stocks I purchase or add more shares to:

Decemeber 6, 2018
DIS 3 shares @ $113.32 total $339.96

Decemebr 11, 2018
LEG 10 shares @ $37.64 total $376.40
MAIN 4 shares @ $37.42 total $149.68
December 12, 2018
IRM 14 shares @ $34.27 total $479.78

December 14, 2018
MAIN 6 shares @ $37.45 total $224.69

December 18, 2018
CB 2 shares @ $125.40 total $250.81

I Spend total of $1444.92 adding new shares and start a new position in Iron Mountain (IRM) they operate a highly durable business with consistent cash flow, it engages in the provision of storage and information management solutions. Its businesses operates in from its headquarters in boston to Asia pacific, Europe, Africa, Latin America and Western Europe. It has a range arrays of business serving customer worldwide and protecting their data and mission critical infrastruture.
IRM also just raised its dividend from $0.5875 to $0.611, that is an amazing 4% increase last quarter Ex-Dividend date was December 14, 2018.

What do you think of recent purchases and sale? Are you buying on this market condictions at a discount?

With the resent transactions I added $23.18 in forward yealry dividend, total yearly dividend is now at $1590.76.

What are you buying during the market volatility?

Update from November 3-16

Update from November 3-16

With the end of 2018 fast approaching, I have been focusing on trimming the number of stocks to a level that I think I will feel comfortable adding shares to next year (2019). At the same time I also pick up some stocks that I will continue to add shares to as we move forward. So it is time to review and update what has happened to the fund over the last few weeks. As I sit here a little bit sick, I have under the weather for the last few days it has given me time to ponder and weight my options on what type of investment to make and where to go from here. It really has been a busy week from trying to evict a tenant, to a court appearance to facilitate that move and from being away from work because of illness mostly due to weather changes in New England.

However, without further ado... let us look and review what I sold and purchase in the last few weeks:

Purchase:

Nobember 6, 2018
IBM 3 shares @ $122.578 total $367.71
BPL 3 shares @ $33.02 total $99.06

November 14, 2018
GSK 6 shares @ $41.01 total $246.06
RDS.A 5 shares @ $61.43 total $307.14
KHC 12 shares @ $52.70 total $632.40

November 16, 2018
MAIN 5 shares @ $38.75 total $193.75

Sell:

November 14, 2018

CINR 9 shares @ $23.91 total proceeds $215.21
BPL 11 shares @ $31.52 total Proceeds $246.72
CPB 9 shares @ $39.25 total proceeds $353.25
BKE 12 shares @ $21.31 total proceeds $255.72

All the sales proceeds were deployed in adding to shares already owned or to purchase new stocks (RDS.A, GSK and KHC) they will be part of the fund for the next five years for sure. It was not that I did not like the stocks that was sold or did not believe they can be part of the fund. It was simple the fact I had to trim the fund and focus on fewer stocks on the portfolio to anchor the future growth of Dividend pursuit fund. I may purchase the stocks that were sold in the future, but at this time they do not fit the fund objectives.

What do you think of recent purchases and sell?

What have you been buying lately?

Thanks for visiting!

Week of October 29- November 2 update Purchase & Sell

Buy & Sell Week of October 29

I started the week analyzing my fund, I came to a conclusion that the portfolio had too many stocks this early in the collection. It was time to trim the amount of holdings from 70 individual stocks to 60 by the end of the year. So which stocks to sell and hold, was the big question. After analyzing my holdings I found some that I definitely would want to keep no matter what. I also found some that I could hold at this time. I also would be ok selling and hopefully buy it down the line once the fund is fully established enough that It would contribute to my FIRE. Also one in particular that I would sell is GE after cutting dividend from $0.12 to $0.01 I needed to sell no matter what anyway.

First lets us look at companies I sold after they no longer meet the fund objectives or at this time the fund can progress without it. Without further ado here is the sale:

Sold

October 29, 2018
VIV 10 shares @ $10.59 total $105.90
ABM 6 shares @ $31.13 total $186.78

October 30, 2018
GE 37 shares @ $9.99 total $369.64
CHL 7 shares @ $45.53 total $318.71
DLNG 25 shares @ $8.10 total $202.51
TGS 7 shares @ $13.78 total $96.46
LND 30 shares @ $3.65 total $109.50

November 1, 2018
NWFL 5 shares @ $38.17 total $190.83
F 35 shares @ $9.27 total $324.45

Total Proceeds from the sale: $1904.79
Total yearly Dividend loss from sale: $87.65

Now lets look where the capital was deployed:

Purchase

October 29, 2018
EPR 3 shares @ $67.84 total $203.52
O 3 shares @ $61.09 total $183.27
OHI 19 shares @ $33.32 total $633.08

October 30, 2018
PAYX 10 shares @ $64.12 total $641.20
UL 9 shares @ $53.44 total $480.96

November 1, 2018
OKE 6 shares @ $64.52 total $387.12
CINR 4 shares @ $25.56 total $102.23
HCP 4 shares @ $28.12 total $112.48
BLX 15 shares @ $17.39 total $260.84
PCH 3 shares @ $37.12 total $111.34

A lot of activities, but lets sort through all of it. The purchase will add $173 in forward yearly dividend for a total of $1555.42 yearly.

I Sold 9 stocks and added 3 new ones (OKE, PAYX and UL) all leading companies in its sector. Al they have consistently raised dividend. In fact the dividend appear safe for the next 5 to 10 years.

I also trim my stocks holding from 75 to 66 in the Robin Hood account. So there is still 6 more I need to trim from here to January. I will be re-evaluating why I bought each stocks and see how the dividend payout ratio compare to free cash flow, before making final decision. Of course the ability to sustain the dividend payout will be part of the final decision making.

What do you think of recent activities of stocks sold and bought?

What are you buying lately? How many stocks you think is reasonable to hold in your portfolio?

Thanks for visiting

Cheers

Recent Sell off July

Recent Sell-off on capital one investing

Another week has started and no doubt it was time to sell more shares and move the capital to Robin Hood (RH). so this week I started the sell off with two of my favorites. I hope to buy them early next month hopefully as Mr. Market always throws us a curve ball unexpectedly due to market conditions and other buy opportunities that may arise.

So without further ado... here is what i sold this week so far:

July 23, 2018
MAIN 24.2672 Shares @ $39.37 Total $955.40 as the $6.95 fee will be return tomorrow.

July 24, 2018
LTC 17.2765 Shares @ $40.94 Total $707.21

This will almost complete my sell and transfer strategy to RH from Sharebuilder. It is almost surreal that I am leaving Sharebuilder. I have been using the platform since 2002/2003. However, the fees I will be saving is almost worth the extra hassle for now.

What are you thoughts on this move? What are you Buy/sell?

Recent Sell on Capital One Investing

Recent Sell

I prefer to buy and hold for as long as the stock is producing regular increase dividend. However, with the Capital One Investing (Sharebuilder) selling all their assets to E*Trade, it was time to take advantage of free trades and move all my assets to Robinhood platform (RH).

RH will provide free trades, so I will be saving on fees and instead invested those fees on stable longer term stocks who provide steady increase dividend. This is the Dividend Pursuit is all about adding and collect dividend paying stocks to fuel my journey to financial freedom.

so without further ado....here is what I sold recently and started moving the capital to RH:

July 17, 2018
EPR 3.7002 Shares @ $65.67 Total 236.03 +$6.95 refunded. All fees were refunded.
O 5 Shares @ $54.65 Total $314.57 + $6.95 fee

July 18, 2018
QCOM 10.3345 Shares @ $58.65 Total $599.18 + $6.95 Fee

All proceeds have been moved to RH to buy new stocks at this point. I will eventually buy the stocks I sold. But not at the moment, as Mr. Market is presenting some other better evaluation and opportunity.

What do you think of new strategy? What are you buying? do you sell when metrics do not make sense or do you tend to hold for long term?

Thanks for visiting

July 2018 Purchase & Sell

Purchases & Sells from Capital One Investing

As we start the second half of 2018, a new month, I took the apportunity to change few things. Althought, I believe this was started last month, with the change from Capitalone Investing to Robinhood platform. the moves has some benefits and some drawbacks. However, the benefits from no transaction cost should more than compensate for the drawback, in my view are no possibility to invest base on dollar amount. Instead I will be buy number of shares range from 1 to 10 at times or even 20 as was the case with my initial purchase of GE purchase.

So without further ado.... here are some of the activities that have taken placed, first update from my Capitaone Investing account.
July 3, 2018 Purchase on Sharebuilder (Capitalone Investing)
MAIN 3.81 Shares @ $38.28 + $3.95 commission = $150.00

Sells July 5, 2018
DLR 3.1017 Shares @ $114.39, all commission of $6.95 was refunded due to Capital One sells the account to E-Trade.
WPC 7.2896 Shares @ $66.99

July 12, 2018
VTR 5.1596 Shares @ $58.41
VOD 10 Shares @ $24.29
BNS 10.0052 @ $56.85

Standby there will be more sales from now until August 8, 2018. This is the deadline impose by capital One Investing to sell partial sale before the transfer to E-Trade occurs. I may or may not take advantage of the refund on commission and move all my account to Robinhood.

What do you think of this recent strategy? I do believe I will incur some capital gains in the process but it will be easier to manage my account from one broker. Of course I will be buy most of the holding I am selling on Capital One, on Robinhood eventually. But this will also give me the opportunity to buy other bargains stock out there.

What do you think of recent buy and sell?

Another week another opportunity to invest in the market. Mr market recent rally mostly due Trump effect. It is very possible for the DOW to reach mid 20000's in next few years. Recent purchase IV -November 2016

Recent purchase IV

As most of you already know I use Sharebuilder or capitalone investing if you prefer as my choice of broker. The reason been able to set aside as little amount I could afford for the week to invest in their weekly Sharebuilder plan. Given that fact I really enjoy months with five weeks to add to my investment, which means more opportunity to built dividend for the future and be able to reach ones goal that much faster.

So here is what I purchase last two weeks:

Sharebuilder
11/29/2016
WPC $100 1.62 shares @ $59.25
UNP $100 .95 shares @ $100.49

ROTH Sharebuilder
11/22/2016
STAG $50 1.99 shares @ $23.14

11/29/2016
$50 1.93 shares @ $23.84

IRA Sharebuilder
11/22/2016
UVE $50 1.84 shares @ $24.95
DGAS $50 1.77 shares @ $25.88
CSX $50 1.32 shares  $34.80

11/29/2016
UVE $50 1.84 shares @ $24.99
DGAS $50 1.72 shares @ $26.66
CSX $50 1.31 shares @ $34.90

Stay tune because I may still pull a trigger on a regular purchase due to fact that I forgot to change my weekly Sharebuilder plan. I am currently under medication which makes me drowsy, by the time I woke up yesterday it was 5 pm which is the deadline to setup weekly plans. Oh well I live with this purchases since I would eventually buy more and build up shares here.

The one expection here is WPC which just trigger a ash sale in my account. I was hoping to save on my 2016, since paying over 18,000 last year i need to start looking at ways to save on my tax. One way is to sell stocks at a loss which i hate to do since that's the time to buy more.

But in honor of been honest I decide last Friday to start selling stocks for loss to lower my tax here are some that I have sold so far and more to more next on the I am sure.

11/22/16
Sharebuilder
OHI 20.72 shares @ $28.91
HCP 22.40 shares @ $29.24
SUN 5.30 shares @ $21.78
GSK 4.88 shares @ $38.85
HCN 2.19 shares @ $62.55
WPC 10.66 shares @ $59.10
TUP 2.72 shares @ $59.22
HEP 1.4 shares @ $32.86
QCP 4.42 shares @ $14.57
WES .8 shares @ $ 56.63

With all this activity my forward yearly dividend is now at $934.99. Which means i have 1 month to now catch up on my goal to reach $1000 in forward dividend. Very achievable will see with all the holidays if i can come close.

Of course I will buy most of these stocks before year end after 30 days wash sale rule ends.

What do you think of recent moves?
What are you buy?
Are you selling?

SELL ORDER

Sell order

Well this to me is a no brainer. I really love National Oilwell Varco Inc (NOV). It really hurts a company when it can no longer maintain its dividend or raise its dividend. That is what happened to NOV the company's Board of Directors decided to cut its dividend from $0.46 to $0.05 a 95% cut ouch!

So it no longer fits into my goals of keeping and buying dividend growth stocks. I do think the company will rebound in the future and I will take a look at it them, but for no it no longer retains my admiration so it was time to sell.

April 11, 2016
Sold 6.2565 shares @ 27.522 for $165.24 after commission. The capital will be put to better use. Since I cannot buy lots of share at this point in my investment career.

This will reduce my yearly dividend by $11.50 so forward dividend now stands at $460.69

Just a small setback no biggie deal as far as long term is concerned.

What do you thing of this move? Are you holding on to NOV, if you hold it in your portfolio?

Recent sell

Recent Sell

December 31 right before the market closed I decided to sell all my positions in ConocoPhillips (COP). Mostly for tax loss purpose. I will re purchase it again around February or March.  With that said I will used the cash to either add to XOM, JNJ, VZ, or start a new position I have been looking at TD back one of the Canadian big banks to increase my position in finance. The other idea I have is to start a position in CAT it was down 28% last year a great time to start a position in a solid company who too some beating in the market last year.

With that said here is the sell order COP Sold 13.99 shares @46.75 for $647.23

The capital will be used to increase or add new positions

What do you think of recent sell order? What are you buying?

Thanks for reading.
