Raises update
With August firmly on the books, it's time to catch up with recent activity within my portofolio to review where we going, and plan ahead towards year end to meet each goals outline from the outset. What better way to start then to review recent dividend increases announcements. Since everyone on the planet loves to receive a raise here and there just to maybe keep up with inflation. The cost of living has been on a rise in the last 15 years at an increditable pace. 

This is one reason I love the aspect of investing in dividend growth stocks. They at least try to keep up with inflation and the power of compounding takes over like a snow ball effect. So without further ado let's review some recent raises announcements.

K from .50 to .52 a 4% increase announced back in July 29, 2016. The Ex-Div Aug 30 Payable Sept 15

KHC from .575 to .60 a 4.3% increase Ex-Div Aug 24 payable Oct 7

ITW from .55 to .65 a 18% increase Ex-Div Sept 28 payable Oct 6

BNS from C$.72 to C$.74 a 2.8% Increase Ex-Div Sep 30 payable Oct 27

VZ from .567 to .5775 a 2.2% increase Ex-Div Oct 5 payable Nov 1

Amazing receiving a raise without lifting a finger to at least keep up with the federal target inflation rate of 2%. I will definetelly take that anyway.

My forward yearly divided is now $954.83 after the $4.68 increase in dividend this will go towards compounding my dividend that I will be receiving going forward.

Dividend payout August 2016

My favorite time of the month is here, time to reflect on those company whovsend a small chunk of change my way. They all add up to make up a decent amount. For the past eight months this amount keeps growing substantially, I will take that in a heart beat. Specially since it required no work in my part, just the for sight of investing in this wonderful company small chunk at a time.

Wow, almost broke the three digit mark for the second time, but I am sure I will break it next month.

This covers a few bills that are due this month, like electrical bill which usually is around $62 for the 

month of August and gas $37. I will definitely take that anytime two bills I wont have to worry about paying if i just stop investing, but we all know that not gone happen since my ultimate goal is to have all my bills cover by dividend receive.

Update on recent purchase I made, its been a fun summer so far as another week of vacation come upon us its time to take off on another road trip around new england. This week will be heading to the beautiful Newport RI. As we take on to the beach and some site visits of some beautiful mansions around the coast.

Wow!!! This double my equivalent month which was in April. The power of compound albeit small still taking its effect here adding $0.79 to my yearly dividend to $855.48.

Recent Purchase V - July 2016

Recent Purchase:

With the country in full political mode with the two recent political conventions, one can even debate which party will be better for DGI community or even for investors alike.

However one has to see what are your goal and follow those goals no matter what the outcome is. Since neither party will control you and your desire goals or be able to reach them for you.

It is with that view point that for me going forward I will simplify how a track my goals and outcome.
Since we are half way through the year I will be focus mostly on my individual Account with Sharebuilder as it will be my main source of income in retirement. Loayl3 as much as I like it has limited choices which I will transfer all proceeds for my sale there at month end to a newly form custodian account for Divident Pursuit Jr. He is three years old now and a good opportunity to get him started. I will try to invest $1000 a year going forward. I will eventually set those goals in stone how I will fund his account either early in the year or late or even monthly.

My two sharebuilder IRA and Roth will continue to operate however I will not track it since early withdrawn penalty will not favor me or my desire goals.

So next month I will stop adding or tracking its performance as a whole and separate it from individual account, I will however track it in house every few months to see progress been made.

Recent Purchase IV - July 2016

Recent Purchase PG, SIR, CL, CLX, GOV and FAST

After take a short vacation, we got home in time yesterday to setup my weekly purchase on sharebuilder account.

I really did not wanted to add any new stocks to my individual sharebuilder account, as I feel it has reach a point where I need to start increasing amount of shares own versus add new stocks to track. But both my ROTH and IRA account are in their imphancy hence there is where value and growth stocks will be placed going forward. I will however be trying to put more emphasis on the ROTH account for tax reason going forward.

So here are today purchases for July 19, 206

At this point I could possibly start hoarding cash to wait for a crash which I hope comes by year end.
But them again I am just starting so why not keep at it and keep adding shares to this wonderful companies which will one day cover all my expenses and allowed me to retire early.
